What is Kinesiology

What is Kinesiology?

“Kinesiology, literally the study of body movement, encompasses holistic health disciplines which use gentle manual muscle testing to monitor information about a person’s well being…”                                          The British Houses of Parliament

Kinesiology is a holistic method of treatment that specifically accesses and releases stress on a physical, mental, emotional or spiritual level.

It combines a Western understanding of anatomy, physiology and psychology with Traditional Chinese Laws of Energy, acupoints, meridians and chakras.

This is a is a gentle, non-invasive and powerful approach to healing that can have you living free from pain and open to your full potential.

The result is renewed vigour, clarity and confidence on every level.

Kinesiology can give you the courage and energy to face change and move forward in life with confidence.

“Developed by American Chiropractors about 30 years ago, Kinesiology started with the idea that the strength of certain muscles could indicate other and seemingly unrelated physical problems. It then began adding. It adopted ancient Chinese ideas of accupressure points, energy (chi) and balance (yin and yang); a few New Age ideas of spirituality, allergies and flower essences; and the popular notion that a problem can be traced back to an event or events in the past…By Using a seemingly simple technique of monitoring the response of certain muscles to mental and physical stimuli, it is possible to bypass the conscious mind and tap into the subconscious. Past events that may have caused parts of the brain to shut down can be identified; the damage undone by employing kinesiology’s mix of ancient Chinese laws of energy and acupressure points, and some modern concepts of physiology, psychology and spirituality. Energy channels can be unblocked, brain pathways cleared, balance restored.”

How does Kinesiology work?

By reading a simple muscle response, kinesiologists can identify the source  of physical or emotional stress. The muscle response can reveal where self-sabotage and blocks occur, “circuits of stress”, subsconsious desires, motivations and programs of the brain that may be locked in old patterns.

From there, the body itself directs the course of treatment, communicating what is out of balance and what is required to reset it. The corrections are anchored back into the body through acupoints or other techniques that ‘rewire’ your response to the original stress. Clients report they feel lighter, clearer and more ’connected’ after a treatment, and the effects are long-lasting, even life changing. With each session you will experience more balance, confidence and well-being with your life, relationships and decisions.

Bring Balance, confidence and wellbeing back into your life, relationships and decisions with Kinesiology.

My passion for kinesiology was really helped along by some inspiring teachers. Almost twenty years ago I was lucky enough to do my Diploma training with Dr Charles Krebs (Author of A Revolutionary Way of Thinking: From a Near Fatal Accident to a New Science of Healing) whose own remarkable life journey snatched him from a career in science and lead him to develop some of the best primary research on kinesiology, learning disabilities, multi – sensory integration, brain feedback and muscle response. Here he retells his amazing story and explains how kinesiology works.

Definition of Kinesiology

Kinesiology, literally the study of body movement, encompasses holistic health disciplines which use gentle manual muscle testing to monitor information about a person’s well being. It originated in the 1960’s combining western techniques with Eastern wisdom to promote physical, emotional and spiritual health.Kinesiology identifies factors which block the body’s natural healing process. These dysfunctions are rectified by attention to reflex and acupressure points, the use of specific body movements and nutritional support.Kinesiology can relieve pain, stress, muscular and nervous disorders; detect allergies and nutritional deficiencies; assist with psychological and learning problems, stimulate energies and release untapped potential

From The British Houses of Parliament

Kinesiology means “the study of muscle movement” and uses muscle monitoring to access information. It identifies the elements that inhibit the body’s natural energies and provides techniques to assist the natural healing process. It stems from chiropractics and is also based on the ancient Chinese acupuncture theory of chi energy.
