What Is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is an energy-based healing modality that incorporates a Western understanding of psychology, anatomy and physiology with the Chinese Laws of Energy, meridians, acupoints and chakras.
It is a gentle, non-invasive and powerful method of healing that can specifically access and release blocks and physical or energetic stress. By testing simple muscle response and using biofeedback, the body directs the course of treatment, communicating what is out of balance and exactly what treatment is needed to correct each stress condition. Corrections are anchored back into the body through the acupoint system or physical and structural techniques.
The result is a renewed sense of vigour, clarity and confidence, release from stress, pain, dis-ease and hard-to-break patterns, and the courage and energy to face change and move forward in life on difficult issues.
“Developed by American Chiropractors about 30 years ago, Kinesiology started with the idea that the strength of certain muscles could indicate other and seemingly unrelated physical problems. It then began adding. It adopted ancient Chinese ideas of accupressure points, energy (chi) and balance (yin and yang); a few New Age ideas of spirituality, allergies and flower essences; and the popular notion that a problem can be traced back to an event or events in the past...
By using a seemingly simple technique of monitoring the responses of certain muscles to mental or physical stimuli, it is possible to bypass the conscious mind and tap into the subconscious. Past events that may have caused parts of the brain to shut down can be identified; the damage undone by employing kinesiology’s mix of ancient Chinese laws of energy and acupressure points, and some modern concepts of physiology, psychology and spirituality. Energy channels can be unblocked, brain pathways cleared, balance restored.”

The British Houses of Parliament define kinesiology as:
"Kinesiology, literally the study of body movement, encompasses holistic health disciplines which use gentle manual muscle testing to monitor information about a person's well being. It originated in the 1960's combining western techniques with Eastern wisdom to promote physical, emotional and spiritual health.
Kinesiology identifies factors which block the body's natural healing process. These dysfunctions are rectified by attention to reflex and acupressure points, the use of specific body movements and nutritional support.
Kinesiology can relieve pain, stress, muscular and nervous disorders; detect allergies and nutritional deficiencies; assist with psychological and learning problems, stimulate energies and release untapped potential." ~ The British Houses of Parliament
